Sneakers for Soldiers is gaining national recognition.

On July 22, 2019, we were featured on ABC World News Tonight with David Muir on his America Strong segment. Thank you to everyone who tuned in, helped share our story, and made donations for our deployed troops.
A year later, on July 21, 2020, David Muir brought us back, again, on his America Strong segment to highlight the difference your donations have made and the appreciation from our deployed service members and their families.
After the overwhelming response from David Muir’s American Strong segment on July 22, 2019, he ran a follow-up story which aired the next day, on July 23, 2019.
The enthusiasm to support our mission and our troops was again so great after the segment on July 21, 2020, he brought us back for another follow up, two days later, on July 23, 2020.

Over Memorial Day Weekend of 2018, FOX 29’s Bill Anderson (For Goodness’ Sake) filmed the tagging and packaging of the first shipment of 21 shoes going to an Army Infantry Platoon in Afghanistan.

When we became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, KYW Newsradio, Philadelphia, helped bring awareness to our mission.

The secret is out…Hagar Chemali has a CRUSH on Sneakers for Soldiers! You may recognize Hagar who has held positions such as National Security/Foreign Affairs TV Commentator, former Spokesperson for the U.S. Treasury Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, and Director of Communications for the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. She has appeared on major networks including MSNBC, CNN, Bloomberg, Fox News, and BBC News.

Phillies Charities Inc. Recognizes Sneakers for Soldiers at their annual Giving Tuesday Holiday Party

Sneakers for Soldiers was among thirty-five organizations in PA, NJ, DE and in areas near the Phillies minor league affiliates that were awarded a grant to help continue their charitable efforts.
Deborah Hausladen, President and Co Founder, spoke about the impact Sneakers for Soldiers has had on deployed combat troops and what the Phillies Charities’ generosity will mean to our service members.

Philadelphia Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars

The Bronze Patrick Henry Medallion Award was awarded by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars to John and Deborah Hausladen. Their patriotic efforts in establishing the Sneakers for Soldiers program, supplying athletic shoes for deployed troops, was recognized at the March 2019 Members Luncheon.
